Keerthanna Kannan

CORU Registered Senior Physiotherapist & Women's Health Specialist Book Online

Keerthanna is a dedicated and highly skilled physiotherapist with over six years of diverse clinical experience across India and the Maldives. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 2017, followed by a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy specialising in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2020, graduating with distinction.

She began her professional career in India, working across a range of private practice settings, including a USA-based JCI-accredited facility. During this time, Keerthanna developed a strong clinical foundation in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, with particular expertise in chronic pain management. Her clinical skill set includes pain neuroscience education, dry needling, manual therapy, EMG biofeedback therapy, shockwave therapy, and functional rehabilitation.

In 2023, Keerthanna relocated to the Maldives, where she took on the role of Clinical Team Lead within a busy multidisciplinary healthcare setting. Working in an international and multicultural environment further strengthened her ability to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds and tailor treatment approaches to individual needs. In this leadership role, she managed a wide-ranging caseload encompassing musculoskeletal, neurological, and women’s health conditions, while also mentoring junior physiotherapists and collaborating closely with orthopaedic surgeons, neurologists, rheumatologists, and general physicians.

Keerthanna has extensive experience in the management of chronic musculoskeletal conditions, including postural dysfunction, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, myofascial pain syndromes, joint and muscle injuries, and migraine-related conditions. She also works closely with antenatal and postnatal patients, addressing pregnancy-related back and pelvic pain, diastasis recti, and pelvic floor dysfunctions such as urinary incontinence.

In addition to clinical treatment, Keerthanna provides ergonomic assessments and workplace injury prevention guidance, supporting patients in addressing lifestyle and occupational factors that contribute to chronic pain. As a certified yoga instructor, she integrates yoga-based principles into her rehabilitation programs to enhance flexibility, posture, breath control, and overall body awareness.

Keerthanna’s approach to physiotherapy is holistic and patient-centred, with a strong emphasis on education, empowerment, and active participation in recovery. She adopts an integrated treatment model that combines hands-on therapy, movement-based rehabilitation, and evidence-based pain education to support long-term outcomes. Keerthanna is CORU registered and a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
