Neurological injuries

Neurological conditions are conditions associated with the nervous system that being the spinal cord and/or brain. There are many neurological conditions which our physiotherapists are specialised to treat. We see patients who have suffered a neurological deficit though a spinal cord injuries, stroke, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis or parkinson’s disease. With any neurological condition patients will find that there main goal is to maintain or improve mobility and independence. They may also exhibit pain from painful muscle spasm which your physiotherapist will use a range of neuro-techniques to help alleviate these symptoms. We have a full time physiotherapist working with our neuro-clients. He specialises in the field of neurological rehabilitation.

We work closely with you to help you achieve your goals and to prevent painful muscle contractures developing due to muscle weakness. Neurological conditions can vary from case to case and from condition to condition. In large they do exhibit similarities which are muscle weakness, sensory deficits and progressive deterioration. Rehabilitation techniques are used to help improve movement and help normalise muscle tone so that he limbs can function better.We can accommodate our patients to be seen in the comfort of their own home. We also offer hydrotherapy as a service to our patients. This can be very beneficial to help with painful spasm and promote movement and flexibility.
